Wearing Falsies – Know The Do’s And Don’ts

Do you dream of having lush and spectacularly fluttery lashes?

While some of us are lucky to have naturally long & lustrous lashes, the rest of us are not. But that does not mean you’re out of luck – false eyelashes are here to the rescue!

Falsies are without a doubt one of the best inventions for the fashion-conscious woman, but putting them on can also be somewhat difficult.

Here we list below some of the do’s & don’ts for taking your eyelash game to the next level by using false lashes.

Don’t apply falsies directly:

The whole purpose of putting on falsies is to have beautifully long & glossy looking lashes. To that end, never put on false lashes without trimming them to the length of your lash line. If you leave them hanging over, they will pull down over your eyes and end up looking less catchy. So, take measurement of your lash line first, then cut your false lashes to the exact length, while making sure that you only cut from the outer corner (end with the longest lashes), and never cut the inner side of the lashes.

Do apply the glue like a professional:

The amount of adhesive that you apply to your false lashes plays an important part in their final appearance. Apply a small amount of lash glue at the center and a little bit more at the corners. Make sure that you spread the glue to a thin layer across the lash band.

Don’t apply too much glue:

Excessive lash glue can be damaging to your natural eyelashes. Be safe and always apply the least amount of glue needed to your lash band. Too much glue and it can get on the inside of your eyes and cause irritation, as well as smush and become visible on your eyelid. One pro-tip for those who want their falsies lashes to hold more securely is to apply a thin layer of false eyelash glue at the lash band and eyelid junction to help further reinforce the false eyelash hold. A note on color: dark false eyelash glue will blend into your eyeliner better as it creates a cool cat-eye effect!

Do stick your lashes right over your lash line:

How you put your falsies on your natural lashes plays an important part in how your final look will turn out. Always use a pair of tweezers to get your preferred levels of precision.

Don’t forget to apply mascara:

Always apply a layer of mascara on your falsies so they blend in perfectly with your natural lashes. You can apply mascara to your lower, natural lashes to add extra definition for a wide-eyed effect.
